Now serving NYC fire alarm companies

Know which buildings to call next.

Fanlight watches new FDNY fire alarm summonses, finds out who manages each building, and sends the ones worth a call to your company alone.

Who to contact on an opportunity: the managing agent and their phone with a Call button

Shown with demo data.

When the FDNY writes a summons about a building's fire alarm, it becomes a public record. That record is a reason to call. Fanlight finds it, works out who runs the building, and puts it in front of you.

We do the research. You make the call.

  1. We read the record.

Several times a day, we check New York's public records for new FDNY summonses that point at a building's fire alarm system.

  2. We research the building.

Each summons is matched to its building, and the building to the managing agent or owner on its HPD registration. Then we find that company's published phone and website.

  3. You make the call.

It arrives in your inbox and your morning email, sent to your company and no one else, with the reason to call and what to ask. You track it from first call to quote.

One company per live opportunity

Sent to one company: yours.

When we send you a live opportunity, no other Fanlight customer receives it. You are never racing someone else to the same building.

Starting with fire alarms in New York City.

A fire alarm summons points straight at the work a fire alarm company does, so that's where we began. Each new trade and city is added only when we can research it this carefully.

What we promise, and what we won't.

A lead is only worth calling if you can trust where it came from.

  • Never padded.

Volume follows what the city actually records. Some weeks are quiet, and we don't fill them with weaker leads.

  • No promises we can't keep.

A summons is an alleged violation, not a signed job. We show you where to look and never guarantee the work.

Questions

Anything else? fanlight@hane.studio

Where does Fanlight get its information?
Public NYC records. FDNY summonses come from the OATH Hearings Division on NYC Open Data; building and management details come from HPD registrations and the city's tax-lot data; business phone numbers and websites come from public business listings. Every opportunity links to its official record.
How recent are the opportunities?
We check city records on a schedule, several times a day. The city usually publishes a summons some days after the inspection, so this is not real-time. Every opportunity shows the date of the city event.
What do I get with each opportunity?
The building, what the FDNY cited and when, the managing organization, its business phone and website where available, and the official record. Plus a shared place to track status and notes with your team.
Are live opportunities shared with other Fanlight customers?
No. When Fanlight sends a live opportunity to your company, no other Fanlight customer receives it.
Does Fanlight guarantee the building needs a new contractor?
No. A summons tells you a building may need work. Whether its manager wants a new contractor is something only the call can tell you.
Is Fanlight only for fire alarm companies?
For now, yes, and only in New York City. We're adding other trades and cities one at a time, each once we can research its public records as carefully as we do fire alarm summonses.
Which parts of NYC are covered?
All five boroughs. You choose the ones your company serves.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. It's $199 a month, month to month. Cancel from your settings and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
